Barack Obama Is Not Muslim

Contrary to a popular rumor that is being circulated, Senator Barack Obama has never practiced any Islamic religion. This rumor comes from a false chain email that has been sent around to hundreds of email boxes.

The email claims for one, that Obama went to a Madrassa - Wahabi school in Indonesia. This is not true. Barack Obama did go to a school over there, but it was a secular school - a school that did not enforce a particular religion. He has never gone to a school that teaches radical Islam.

Barack Obama's Father

The email also claims that his father was a Muslum. This too is, essentially false. In his early life, Obama Senior was a Muslim - but he forewent the religion for atheism and agnosticism instead. Barack Obama's father was not particularly religious by the time baby Barack was born.

Barack Obama's Mother

Barack Obama's mother is also mentioned in the email. The email claims that she was an atheist - but this is a variation of the truth. His mother was a very smart woman who, instead of forcing a particular religion on her son, she helped him get the experience of many different world views. As a result, this makes Barack Obama's Christian Faith even stronger.
