Barack Obama Takes No Lobbyist Money - Sort Of

Honest Hope pledges to bring 100% accurate information.

Senator Obama's presidential campaign accept absolutely no money from federal registered lobbyists, and no money from political action committees. His campaign has been funded entirely by individual contributions by people.

But his original campaigns in Illinois did have some lobbyist backing. Similar to other local campaign, he was willing to accept money from lobbyists in his tenure in the Illinois Senate. He did not allow these connections, however, to halt progress. With his connections to the healthcare industry, he still passed laws that would bring about better health care situations to Illinois.

His Presidential Campaign, though, has no ties to Lobbyists, meaning a Barack Obama presidency will not be as tied up with favors owed to large corporations. Obama has often been quoted as saying, "Although corporations deserve a seat at the table, they do not get to buy every chair."
