Barack Obama HAS Experience
Barack Obama's political and worldly resume as a junior senator is a lot bigger than many of his opponents in this upcoming political election. He has been a representative for the state of Illinois for many many years.
The fact that he hasn't been big in Washington for as many years as certain other silver-spooned opponents, some say he is setup in the perfect position. "Anymore, that might be a good factor," says Carol Hood, Democratic Party chairman in Calhoun County. "He doesn't have a lot of people he owes things to."
Obama's
experience is much more broad than his time in elected office. He was a community organizer in Chicago and led voter-registration drives. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He lived for a time in Indonesia, a Muslim country. He has traveled to the Middle East, Africa and Iraq.
Often candidates who come from a past in the legal field first make enough millions to live comfortably before moving into a life of public service. Senator Obama started first as a community organizer, giving back to communities before doing anything else - right away this proves his honest, heartfelt reason to want to bring change to Washington.
Don't forget,
Abraham Lincoln only served two years in the U.S. House before becoming president.
